The process will be held in Bengaluru shortly.
Singapore-headquartered travel search site Wego.com is on the lookout for a media planning and buying agency. The presentations will be held in Bengaluru towards the end of this month.
So far, the media duties have been handled by an in-house team and this is the first time a professional agency will be brought on board in India.
When contacted, the team confirmed the news, stating that at this point in time the authorities are open to evaluating both globally networked as well as home grown media agencies in this market. The media budget for the brand's upcoming communication is pegged at Rs 6-10 crore.
The upcoming campaign will look at brand building, pushing the brand proposition forward and conveying what the brand stands for, namely, convenience. The media mix will include platforms such as TV, radio, activation as well as digital.
Wego.com is headquartered in Singapore and has regional offices in Jakarta, Bengaluru and Dubai. The services are available in more than 50 localised country sites and in 30 languages.
A travel search site, Wego.com, searches existing global travel websites (including those on airlines, hotel chains and online travel agents) to present what it calls a neutral view of the travel options and prices available to people. According to the company website, per day, Wego refers potential bookings worth over $10 million to the websites of its travel partners, including Makemytrip.com, Yatra.com, Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Airfare.com, AsiaTravel.com, Taj and Emirates, among many more.
The company was founded in 2005 by Ross Veitch, chief executive officer (a former executive at Yahoo!) and Craig Hewett, chief commercial officer (a former executive at InterContinental Hotels Group). Wego launched its India-specific website, http://www.wego.co.in/, in May 2012.
