Auto major Fiat is set to initiate a creative pitch for its upcoming brand, Jeep. Highly placed industry sources have confirmed the news to afaqs!.

The process is in its nascent stages and is underway in Mumbai. Around five prominent agencies are in conversation with the brand team as of now. Creative briefs, inform sources, are yet to be given out.

The development is in sync with the brand's plans to launch the first of its long list of cars in the Indian market by the end of this calendar year. According to reports, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler will be the first products to be launched here.

Jeep is a brand from Chrysler, in which Fiat holds majority stake. As far as brand Fiat goes, Ogilvy currently handles the creative duties, prior to which the account was with Saints & Warriors. Before that the account was with Bates.

For the record, Fiat Group Automobiles India is a fully owned subsidiary of the Italy-based Fiat Group Automobiles. Fiat Group Automobiles India was incorporated in Mumbai last year, after Fiat decided to part ways with former distribution partner Tata Motors. Currently, Fiat Group Automobiles India is responsible for the distribution of Fiat and Jeep vehicles in India.
