His next move is unknown at the moment.
Ranjeev Vij, vice-president and head, Proximity India (the CRM, digital and data arm of BBDO) has put in his papers. The current week is his last at the agency. He has been with Proximity for more than two years and was involved in launching and establishing the agency in India.
Though he confirms the news to afaqs!, Vij refuses to share details of his next move just yet.
Vij has more than 18 years of experience in the industry. He started out in 1994 and has worked with several leading agencies including Enterprise Nexus, Draftfcb Ulka, Ogilvy, Lowe Lintas, Rediffusion-Y&R and Vyas Giannetti Creative (VGC).
Interestingly, this is the second time Vij has bid adieu to BBDO India. He had joined the agency in 2008 and spent a year there, during which he headed the Hewlett Packard (HP) imaging and printing business, and was also responsible for new business projects. At the time, he had moved in from VGC, where he was vice-president and branch head, Delhi.
In 2009, he stepped down as vice-president and business director of BBDO to join Iris Worldwide, where he spent less than a year. After his brief stint at Iris, Vij returned to BBDO, this time to head Proximity India.
At Proximity, Vij worked closely on brands Aviva, 7Up, Nissan, Visa and DHL, and worked on projects for the brands Doublemint (Wrigley India), P&G Corporate, P&G Gillette, Airtel and Johnson & Johnson's Nicorette.
