The Chennai-based advertising agency Rubecon Communications has won the creative mandate for the online jewellery portal Caratlane.com.

Last month, afaqs! carried a report announcing that Starcom Worldwide's Chennai branch had won the media duties for this account.

This is the first time since its launch that Caratlane has shown interest in aggressive advertising. The portal plans a mix of creative and strategic advertising campaigns that will establish strong brand recall amongst its target consumers.

All diamonds sold through the site are certified by international agencies such as GIA (Gemological Institute of America), AGS (American Gemological Society), IGI (International Gemological Institute, Belgium), and HRD (Hoge Raad voor Diamont, Antwerp).

Besides purchasing diamonds, buyers may also customise their own solitaire jewellery on Caratlane.com.

Caratlane.com is an online business website that offers a range of diamonds and diamond jewellery. The B2C portal was launched in October 2008, and is promoted by jewellery retailer Mithun Sacheti under the brand name Jaipur Gems, and by Srinivasa Gopalan, a technocrat and founder of the IT outsourcing firm Lister Technologies.
