afaqs! has learnt that Mudra West has been awarded the creative mandate for BBC GoodFood magazine, India's first international food magazine.

Notably, this is the agency's fifth brand belonging to the Worldwide Media (WWM) portfolio. In May, BBC TopGear had appointed Mudra West as its agency of record for its automotive magazine in India. Before that, the agency had already been working on the creative duties for Lonely Planet magazine in India; it has been handling the same for more than a year now. Earlier, Mudra West had won the creative mandate for brands Filmfare and Femina.

BBC GoodFood magazine is slated to hit stands on October 21, and the phase-wise launch for the brand will build up until then.

Addressing the development, Debolin Sen, publisher, Lonely Planet, BBC TopGear and BBC GoodFood, says, "Food is the most exciting story unfolding in India. The launch of BBC GoodFood magazine is yet another interesting journey we embark on and we couldn't have asked for a better creative partner than Mudra West to assist us."

On winning the account, Arijit Ray, president, Mudra West, says, "It will be our privilege to shape yet another iconic brand, namely, India chapter GoodFood. We look forward to working very closely with the brand team for the launch of the magazine."

For the record, GoodFood magazine is UK's first food magazine. The magazine comprises five main sections, namely, Eat In, Eat Out, Eat Away, First Bite and MasterClass.
