RK Swamy BBDO expands Southern grip; acquires two new businesses

Both businesses will be handled by the Chennai branch of the agency.

Several sources at the agency have confirmed to afaqs! that RK Swamy BBDO has won two new accounts, namely Marg Properties (part of the Marg Group, an infrastructure development company) and TVS Electronics (pioneer manufacturer of computer peripherals in India). Both wins have come into the agency's kitty about 10 days ago.

While the Marg win was the result of a multi-agency pitch in which the agency was invited to come and make a presentation, the TVS Electronics account was bagged without any formal pitch.

Both new accounts will be handled by the agency's Chennai branch.

For the Marg account, RK Swamy BBDO's immediate mandate involves brand building for the company's real estate arm, Marg Properties and working on the brand's numerous new and upcoming projects. There is no incumbent on this account as sources claim that its communication was handled by an in-house team so far.

Ogilvy India's Chennai branch has created communication for TVS Electronics in the past; the agency had been brought on board in 2006.
