Hareesh Tibrewala and Sanjay Mehta, joint CEOs of Mirum India, part of WPP network and a digital marketing agency in Mumbai, have announced to step down from their current roles. Both of them have been leading the company for almost 15 years.

Effective from January 2024, Mihir Karkare has taken over as managing director of Mirum. He has been at the helm of a significant portion of the company's operations in recent years. Tibrewala and Mehta will continue to be on the board of the company and also advisors to the team, with Mihir taking over the responsibility for the entire business.

"Mihir is not only a very capable leader but also very compassionate leader. Now, supported by our very able leadership team, Mihir will take over responsibility for the entire business.  I (and Sanjay) will continue to be on the Mirum Board and guide the organisation through the transition, and on business growth strategies," reads Tibrewala's post on LinkedIn.

Following his transition, he plans to focus on personal interests such as travel, reading, and music. He looks forward to mentoring start-ups and large companies (as an independent director), and exploring potential new business ventures.

Speaking about the transitions, Mehta says in his LinkedIn post, "Mihir has spent the last 15 years in the business and has eminent capabilities, across the entire spectrum of technical, management and leadership spaces. Moreover, we have perhaps the best leadership team, amongst our peers, and I strongly believe that in transitioning out of the Jt CEO role, I leave the business in a very strong state and in very capable hands, to keep growing well."

"As I continue to remain a director and an advisor, this is not a farewell post, simply one about the internal transition. As and when a complete exit happens, there will be many others to thank and acknowledge," he adds.
