The Board of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd., a travel and travel-related financial services company, has recently approved the elevation of Mahesh Iyer as executive director to its board of directors. Iyer's appointment is effective May 29 for a period of 5 years and is subject to the approval of shareholders at the ensuing AGM.

In addition to his role as executive director, Iyer will continue as chief executive officer of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. with direct responsibility for the company's profits and losses, day-to-day operations, strategic planning, management of key relationships, and building a sustainable growth-oriented organisation.
The elevation represents a vote of confidence in Mahesh Iyer who has led Thomas Cook India through a period of significant and sustained growth (organic and inorganic) as its chief operating officer in the past and currently as CEO.
