The Indian arm of the global outdoor advertising company has signed a 10-year deal with the Delhi Airport Metro Express for advertising rights on its indoor and outdoor properties.
JCDecaux India, the Indian arm of the global outdoor advertising agency JCDecaux, has signed a 10-year deal with the Delhi Airport Metro Express.
The agency now owns exclusive branding rights for the interior and exterior locations of the entire metro line.
Speaking about the development to afaqs!, Pramod Bhandula, managing director, JCDecaux India, says, "Advertisers will have access to both domestic as well as international air passengers flying in and out of Delhi, along with travellers by road to and from the airport. Covering both interior and exterior media, this contract has strengthened the transport media portfolio operated by JCDecaux in India, along with augmenting our footprint in Delhi."
The Delhi Metro Express line was started on February 23, 2011. It covers 23 kilometres and has six stations, namely New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aerocity (T1 Terminal), IGI Airport (T3 Terminal) and Dwarka Sector 21.
JCDecaux will have over 650 media options available for advertisers to showcase their brands and products inside the stations, inside the trains and on the metro route. Different formats such as train wraps, light boxes, wall wraps, façades, pillars, gantries, display zones and trolleys will be on offer..
Bhandula says, "Delhi Airport Metro Express service is truly exclusive, delivering the crème de la crème of the airport's passengers - the 'influentials' - at a point when they are truly captive and receptive to communication. It is a genuine opportunity to engage with, and therefore influence, the 'influentials'.."
He adds that it is one of most upmarket out of home environments in the city, providing access to the same target audience as that of Terminal 3 and Terminal 1D at Indira Gandhi International Airport, as it is the most convenient way for passengers to reach the airport. JCDecaux will also ensure coverage of the traffic moving to and from the airport.
The contract strengthens JCDecaux's position in the Delhi OOH market, where it currently operates in areas such as street furniture with approximately 1,200 bus shelters and a mix of formats such as public convenience, vending kiosks, police booths, information panels, flagpoles and pole mounted MUPIs.
JCDecaux India also has the exclusive branding rights for the Bengaluru Airport.
JCDecaux is a global player in the outdoor advertising business. It offers its service for street furniture advertising, billboard advertising, airport advertising and self-service bicycles. The company employs 10,300 people and is present in 56 countries.
