The 30 feet wall comprises images of Bollywood movie posters and is enabled with augmented reality technology offering free song download.
June 21 is celebrated as World Music Day around the world. The concept, started in France, describes this day as a free music day in which music is available free to everyone. To celebrate World Music Day, Bollywood music channel 9XM is offering free song downloads from the latest Bollywood movies.
For this, the channel has created a 30 feet 'Wall of Music' enabled with augmented reality technology that allows multiple song download. The wall is a collage of latest Bollywood movie posters. Anyone who wishes to download songs from the Wall of Music can do so by scanning the movie posters with their smartphones; a list of songs is sent to the smartphone, and the user can then download songs from that particular album. For non-smartphone users, songs can be downloaded through a simple SMS. Also, promoters will be present at the venue to assist audiences with the process of download.
Amar Tidke, senior vice-president and head of content, 9X Media Group, says, "Since 9XM is all about music, we wanted to celebrate World Music Day with our audience by giving them free access to music. We have planned this on-ground innovative Wall of Music supported by on-air promotions as well, wherein we will air themed music every hour."
The walls are installed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Mumbai and inside Shivaji Stadium metro station on the Delhi Airport Metro Express route, from 8 am to 8 pm.
Moreover, the animated characters of 9XM, Bade-Chhote and Bheegi Billi, will also be present at the locations for a few hours. In Delhi, Bade-Chhote and in Mumbai, Bheegi Billi will be present at the venue.
Some of the movies on the wall are Housefull2, Agent Vinod, Gangs of Wasseypur, Mausam, Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara, Tees Maar Khan, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Players and Kahaani.
