The initiative MTS Saheli provides a range of telecom services to women consumers at their doorsteps.
Telecom service provider MTS, promoted by Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL), takes the concept of 'MTS on Wheels' ahead, this time in an effort to draw the attention of women consumers. It has launched the 'MTS Saheli' initiative in West Bengal. The initiative aims to provide a range of telecom services to women consumers at their doorsteps.
As part of the initiative, there will be an air-conditioned bus, which will be manned and steered entirely by women, who will demonstrate the range of products and services offered by MTS. During this period, the bus will travel through various cities and towns, and interact with female customers, collect their feedback, and address their varied needs related to voice and data services.
The bus will have all the facilities available to customers at MTS retail outlets. It will travel across West Bengal, and will cover 30 towns including Kalyani, Salkia, Bally, Belur, Howrah, Andul, Tribeni, Bandel Church, Imambara, Chandennagore, Bhadreshwar, Sreerampore, Konnagar, Rishra and Hindmotor. It will also cover, in a span of 45 days, areas that have girls' colleges, hostels, and malls where a sizeable population is likely to comprise of females in a span of 45 days.
The bus will be equipped with different zones such as service zone, value-added-service (VAS), data product, experience and recharge zone. While the service zone will provide details about issues like handset servicing, the VAS Zone will give demonstrations to female customers for the currently available VAS products. At the data product zone, women consumers will be able to experience the data services through free internet browsing and the recharge zone will provide the facility of instant recharge. The experience zone will also showcase the latest handsets, smartphones, and data-cards.
There will be, along with the team of 'Saheli', female physicians and beauty experts who will provide health and wellness tips to female customers. MTS will also give discounts to female customers on new connections and recharges.
Speaking about the activity, Keshhav Tiwary, chief operating officer (COO), Kolkata and West Bengal circle, MTS India, says, "MTS Saheli, as the name suggests, aims to be a dear friend and companion to our women customers, both professionals and homemakers alike, who are keen to join the MTS family, and make them feel special and privileged. Women customers form a substantial chunk of our total subscriber base."
Based on the learnings from West Bengal, the telecom service provider plans to roll out the MTS Saheli activation on a national scale, as well.
