The agency will handle the entire spectrum of SpiceJet's outdoor advertising, with the business being valued at more than Rs 14 crore.
Outdoor Advertising Professionals (OAP) has bagged the out-of-home (OOH) duties for low-cost airline SpiceJet, following a multi-agency pitch that was held recently. Earlier, SpiceJet's OOH duties were being handled by MOMS.
Gautam Jhanjee, senior vice-president, OAP, will head the business. Jhanjee confirms that the size of the business is more than Rs 14 crore.
Samyukth Sridharan, chief commercial officer, SpiceJet confirms the news, saying, "We have decided to award the business to OAP on the basis of the proposed strategy and its overall understanding of our communication objectives. We evaluated almost five agencies before finalising the results. We feel that given the nature and size of our business, OAP has the right set of skills and experience in its area of operation to deliver an effective strategy in the OOH domain."
In the past, too, SpiceJet has placed high emphasis on its outdoor advertising and has attempted some out-of-the-box outdoor innovations, an example being the 41.5'' x 40' replica of SpiceJet branded Boeing 737 placed outside Terminal 1D of the Delhi airport.
Abhijit Sengupta, chief executive officer, OAP, says, "The win is an endorsement of the firm's credentials and its handling of its businesses. The top management has the experience of handling big-ticket brand media duties in their earlier professional engagements, which the client apparently took note of while assigning the current duties."
For the record, OAP offers various services to its clients through its divisions - Touchpoint, Adzedge and OAP 360.
