Sundeep Sharma, meanwhile, will lead GroupM's media agency, Motivator, as country head
Following the resignation of Madhuri Sapru at Kinetic, the OOH agency has appointed Rajul Kulshreshtha as its managing director. Earlier, Kulshreshtha was head of Motivator, GroupM's media agency.
Motivator, meanwhile, will be led by Sundeep Sharma, country head, who will report into Ajit Varghese, managing director, Maxus. Earlier, Sharma was general manager, Motivator.
Kulshreshtha has been with GroupM for the past six years, initially heading the LG business, and then going on to head Motivator . As out of home becomes more strategic and even more integrated into the communication plan, the company appoints Kulshreshtha to scale up the OOH plans.
In 2005, Kulshreshtha was promoted as the managing director at Motivator, where he has been spearheading the media agency's pan-India role. Prior to that, he was general manager, GroupM, leading team LG for two years.
He has also worked with Universal McCann for more than 11 years (1992-2003). Later, as technical advisor at ZenithOptimedia Indonesia (a media start up 2002-03), he developed a team of 25 people who were well versed in media. He has also worked for CNBC (2003-04) Singapore in the sales function, handling the Southeast Asian region.
Kinetic, a part of the WPP Group, was formed in 2005 to develop the OOH media sector. The company now operates across 23 countries, with annual billing in excess of US$4 billion. In India, Kinetic is the parent company of two OOH agency brands - Portland and Poster Publicity.
