Prime Minister Narendra Modi selects Prakash Javadekar as the minister of Information and Broadcasting. Javadekar had handled the portfolio as Minister of State in 2014 too when Narendra Modi was elected as the Prime Minister of India for the first time. At that time while addressing the media, Javadekar said that his first priority would be to ensure freedom for the media.

Ravi Shankar Prasad elected as a member of parliament from Patna will be the Minister of Law and Justice; Minister of Communications; and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology in the new government. He was handling the same portfolios in the earlier government.
