He will replace former Mondelez executive Narayan Sundararaman, who has decided to move on from Star Plus.
Effective January 1, 2018, Sumanta Bose, executive vice president and general manager, Bengal Cluster, Star India, will work as general manager of the network’s flagship Hindi general entertainment channel Star Plus.
Star India had appointed former Mondelez executive Narayan Sundararaman as general manager about 18 months back. Sundararaman has decided to move on after his brief stint at the channel. Bose will step into his shoes. He will continue to look after Star Jalsha till the network finds a replacement.
Bose joined Star India in 2011 as vice president, marketing and in 2013 was elevated to SVP and business head, Bengal Cluster. In 2016 he became executive vice president and general manager, Bengal Cluster.
Before joining Star India Bose was VP and CMO, PE Electronics. He also worked at Airtel, Tata Teleservices, HDFC Bank and RK Swamy BBDO in the past.
