The network will be the official broadcast partner for the league in over 60 countries.
ProSportify, organiser and promoter of the first edition of the Pro Wrestling League, in association with the Wrestling Federation of India, plans to line up global broadcasters in a bid to reach out to fans across the world. The company has announced that Multi Screen Media (MSM) will be its official broadcast partner for the league in over 60 countries.
The Pro Wrestling League tournament will be played from December 10-27, 2015, in six cities. The tournament will have 18 matches, and will be available live across a bouquet of broadcast platforms. In the Indian subcontinent, the league's Season 1 will be broadcast on Sony Max, Sony Six and Sony Pal, with promotional support from the entire Sony network.
Speaking about the association, Kartikeya Sharma, CMD, ProSportify, says, "MSM has an outstanding reputation as a sports broadcaster and has played an integral role in the promotion and growth of various sports events in the country. We look forward to this relationship and hope to attain the widest possible reach ever for the Pro Wrestling League."
While commenting on the agreement, Vishal Gurnani, director, ProSportify, says, "This is a significant agreement with MSM, and we look forward to work together and offer an extensive coverage of the tournament for wrestling fans across India. MSM is an experienced partner in the broadcast of major international sports events and its expertise will help this league gain the right platform for promoting the sport in India."
The partnership is valid for the next five years, and will give MSM the opportunity to use its production, packaging and presentation expertise to hone and preserve viewer interest in the sport. For MSM, this is the first opportunity to live telecast a combat sport. MSM's sports rights portfolio in India includes the Indian Premier League cricket tournament, top European football leagues and the NBA, the basketball league in the US.
The Pro Wrestling League tournament will be played in six cities across the north, south, east and west zones in India. An initiative of ProSportify and the Wrestling Federation of India, it has six city-based franchisee teams.
