Madison Media took second place, followed by Maxus and Lodestar.
Mindshare reclaimed the top spot in the 2015 Emvies, held on Friday, September 11. On the back of 5 gold, 8 silvers and no less than 17 bronze metals, the agency once again became the media agency of the year, taking the title back from sister agency Maxus.
Incidentally, Mindshare has had a dream run at the Emvies winning the media agency of the year award for six straight years till 2013. In Emvies 2014, Maxus broke Mindshare's winning streak and won award, on the back of nine golds and the Grand Prix.
Then, the celebrations post the announcement were well justified. Mindshare's gold haul included Best Media Innovation - digital - video for Lenovo's 'By Gamers for gamers' campaign and Best Media Innovation - Digital - multiple platform for PepsiCo India's 'Google maps went beyond giving directions to people: it now unlocked a treasure' for Lay's. In the Best Media Innovation - TV - media category, Mindshare swept up two golds. The first came for PepsiCo India's 'Pepsi's preemptive strike on social media', while the second was for IBM's 'Score with Data'. The final gold in the Mindshare tally came in best media innovation - TV - Consumer Products for GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare's 'How did Crocin become a celebrity' for brand Crocin.
Meanwhile, Madison Media fought hard and secures the second place in the media agency tally. In the agency's kitty were 6 golds, 6 silver and 9 bronze - taking the total points to 195. The agency won golds in the categories of Best Ongoing Media campaign (Mondelez India's A sweet decade Cadbury Dairy Milk), Best media innovation - events/ experiential marketing (Marico's This World heart day, mark your attendance where it matters the most), Best integrated campaign - consumer durables (Godrej's ETCH), Best Media Strategy - services (Marico's This World heart day, mark your attendance where it matters the most), Best Media Innovation - TV - consumer durables (Asian Paints' Transforming TV serial homes into Asian paints colour store) and finally Best integrated campaign - Services (Marico's This World heart day, mark your attendance where it matters the most).
The third place went to last year's winner, Maxus with a total of 175 points. Maxus won 6 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze this year. The golds came in the categories of Best media research / analytics - analytics/ data technology (Synapse - The bellwether for social TV in India), Best media strategy (Tata Global beverages' Jaagore redefines the value equation for rural India using the holy trinity of data, technology and content), Best media innovation - digital - multiple platforms (TataSky's Game of Torrents), Best media strategy - services (TataSky's Game of Torrents), Best media innovation - digital - search (TataSky's Game of Torrents) and Best media Innovation - digital - display (TataSky's Everywhere TV - the power of real time marketing).
Lodestar took the fourth place with 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze (total 115 points) followed by MediaCom Communications with 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze (total 85 points). MEC India, GroupM India, DDB Mudra Group, GroupM Dialogue Factory and PHD India took the next 5 spots in the media agency rankings.
