Ad volumes for cosmetics category declined by 91 per cent, while advertising for paints category recorded a surge of 111 per cent on radio in Q4 2014.
Television Audience Measurement (TAM) has released an overview of the advertising volumes on different platforms by the cosmetics and paints category, between October and December 2014.
The report focusses on advertising carried out by the sectors on television, print and radio.
The entire analysis is based on ad volumes expressed in secondages/column centimeters. All spends, if any, indicate market valuation of the ad space/time bought. The figures should be taken only as indicative and not absolutes.
As per the report, TV dominated cosmetics advertising with 98 per cent share of ad insertions. Lakme 9 to 5 Crease Less was ranked No. 1 in the list of new brands for television and print during Q4, 2014.
National and regional TV channels had equal share of ad volumes in the cosmetics sector.
In the paints category too, TV dominated advertising with 87 per cent share of ad insertions. Regional TV channels recorded 69 per cent share of ad volumes.
Gujarat was top amongst the states with 22 per cent share of ad volumes on radio.
