Gaurav Seth, senior vice president and head, marketing at Sony Entertainment Television (SET), has decided to move on. As per sources in the industry, Seth has put in his papers.
The announcement comes close on the heels of Danish Khan's appointment as the business head of SET. Seth who was serving the channel as SVP, marketing, Sony Max, was made the marketing head of SET after Khan quit at the end of 2012.
Seth hails from a sports background as he started his career with ESPN-Star Sports as marketing manager in 1997. After spending six years there, he shifted to Altavista Inc as country head in 2003. He was responsible for brand development, website traffic growth and advertising revenue.
This was a comparatively shorter stint as he moved on to join Zee Telefilms (now ZEEL) as vice president, marketing, in 2004. At Zee, he looked after the group's sports brands and businesses.
Seth then moved on to join Indian Cricket League as vice president in 2007. He headed the marketing and communications role for the newly-launched sports venture of the Subhash Chandra-led Essel Group.
Merely a couple of months after that, he moved on to join Vyas Giannetti Creative Sports as business head in 2008.
