It has brought on board VJ Aparshakti Khurana to present music and fresh programmes.
Sony Mix, with an aim to entertain its viewers with something more than just back-to-back music, is getting VJ Aparshakti Khurana on the channel.
Starting July 25, the VJ will be seen adding his own star value and entertainment to present 'Wow Weekends', a bouquet of music, fresh programmes and new shows.
With an objective to boost its music entertainment quotient, the channel is adding a slew of initiatives to its weekend line-up: Khurana brings back the VJ in a fun, but not funny, avatar through various vignettes spanning reviews, vox-pops and more; 'Baaton Baaton Mein' promises an enchanting part-anecdote, part-opinion walk down the memory lane as yesteryear's stars open up to a very knowledgeable host Anmol and 'Jam Room' returns in season 2 with the present generation voices revisiting old melodies.
Neeraj Vyas, senior EVP and business head, Sony Max, Sony Max 2 and Sony Mix, says, "Weekend is a time when everyone rewinds and recharges. We, as a premier music channel, understand that and want to bring our audience, an assortment of melody and entertainment, to make their weekend go WOW. Based on consumer feedback and detailed analysis, we are adding this industry-first as a new rhythm to their weekends."
Khurana adds, "'Wow Weekends' is a promise of the most exciting weekend destination on Indian television for the best of music entertainment. I'm happy to wear a lot of hats to ensure our viewers asking for more get the most."
