Media industry veteran Vijay Gopal Jindal has joined Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) as advisor to the chairman, Naveen Jindal.
In his new role, he will provide strategic direction to various business segments and functions of JSPL and work closely with the apex leadership including Ravi Uppal, MD and group CEO.

Vijay Gopal Jindal has more than 31 years of experience in managing businesses, brands, private equity investments and undertaking strategic initiatives. He has had long stints in senior management positions in organisations like The Times Group and Zee TV.
He was also co-chairman of marketing and advertising services of Prasar Bharti along-with Alique Padamsee. Post his tenure at ZEE, he was chief of Private Equities, popularly known as Private Treaties in BCCL, which was a pioneering brand building Fund.
As MD and vice chairman of Zee Networks, he is credited with having transformed Zee Networks into a multi-channel, multi-national enterprise with forays into the international markets of UK and USA. At BCCL, he had been on the board and also held the position of CEO of Economic Times (ET) from 1990-95.
