Doordarshan appoints C Lalrosanga as interim director general

The post was earlier occupied by Vijayalakshmi Chhabra who retired recently.

C Lalrosanga has been appointed as the interim director general of Doordarshan.

Previously, he held the charge of additional director general, AIR. The post was earlier occupied by Vijayalakshmi Chhabra who retired recently.

Lalrosanga has diverse experience in broadcasting, both in sound and visuals. According to Doordarshan, he has taken charge of the public broadcaster in challenging times, especially considering the proposed launch of the 'Kisan Channel' and four channels for North Eastern region.

He joined the North Eastern service of All India Radio (NES) Shillong as director, after getting selected by UPSC in 1991. Before that, he was assistant news editor at AIR, Aizawl.
