Patrika Group recently concluded its Concerned Communicator Awards (CCA) in Mumbai. The annual awards show, constituted in 1997, aims at recognising and honouring the creative geniuses in the sphere of social communication.

The awards this year saw entries from 18 countries and the ceremony was organised at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on March 24, 2015.

The jury for the awards included Piyush Pandey, executive chairman and national creative director, India & South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather; Prasoon Joshi, executive chairman & regional creative director, South & South East Asia, McCann Erickson; Mahesh Bhatt, film director, producer & screenwriter; Prahlad Kakkar, advertising film director, Genesis Film Productions; Bharat Dabholkar, director, Why Not Communication; KV Sridhar, national creative director, Leo Burnett; Santosh Padhi, co-founder & chief creative officer, Taproot India and Prakash Jha, film producer, director & screenwriter.

The CCA winner this time was Srijan Advertising, while the other two national category winners were Interpublicity and Kaleido Communications.

The CCA international category award went to
White Rabbit
. There were another 50 entries that were acknowledged by the CCA.

One of the main features of the event was the talk between Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachhan and adman Piyush Pandey. They discussed topics ranging from marketing, sports marketing and social initiatives.

While the other dignitaries such as Gulab Kothari, Prasoon Joshi and KV Sridhar did their bit to engage with the audiences.

The first prize was $ 11,000 dollars, along with a trophy and certificate. While the national category winner and international category winner were awarded with a trophy and certificate.

For CCA, entries from ad professionals are invited in print on any social issue that has touched them. Their concern in the form of print communication brings forth the immediate attention of society. The concept thus emphasises 'Creativity with a Cause'.
