Deepak Lamba, president, BCCL has been given the additional responsibility to head Worldwide Media as the CEO. Prior to this development, Rai was heading Worldwide Media as CEO. Sources within the BCCL have confirmed this development.
Lamba was appointed as the president, Times Group in 2012. Rai took over as CEO, Worldwide Media in 2008. Lamba has been associated with MTV Networks, Bloomberg UTV in the past too.
Worldwide Media was initially a 50:50 JV between Times Group and BBC Worldwide in India but was later bought over in October 2011 and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bennett Coleman & Co. It currently has 13 magazines such as Femina, Filmfare, Lonely Planet, Top Gear, Good Homes, Trends, Knowledge and another six B2B titles.
