Tanuj Garg, chief executive officer of Balaji Motion Pictures, has decided to move on. Garg, who joined the movie production arm of Ekta Kapoor's Balaji in October 2010, is currently serving his notice period at the company. He will leave in January 2015.

At Balaji, Garg was instrumental in driving the company's movies business. He was overseeing development, production, marketing and distribution. In his stint with Balaji, he worked on several movies from the motion pictures company including 'Ragini MMS', 'Shor In The City', 'Shootout At Wadala', 'Lootera', 'The Dirty Picture', 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum', 'Lootera', 'Ek Thi Daayan', 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara', 'Ragini MMS-2', 'Main Tera Hero' and 'Ek Villain'.

He had moved to Balaji Motion Pictures from Viacom18 Media, which he joined in November 2006 and went on to become head of International Business, before quitting in October 2010. Prior to joining Viacom18, he had also worked with UTV and Applause Entertainment. Garg holds an MBA degree in Marketing & Strategy from University of Strathclyde-Strathclyde Business School,UK.
