Sab TV, the family entertainment channel from Multi Screen Media, is set to offer an opportunity to local, and original, talent who can perform stand-up comedy acts and make people laugh with their comical timing and anecdotes.

Starting November 24, the channel will tour eight cities in Rajasthan - Jaipur, Ganganagar, Kota, Alwar, Bikaner, Ajmer, Hanumangarh and Bharatpur. The channel will visit other states too at a later stage.

In the first phase, Sab TV will conduct auditions in these cities and organise comedy events with the selected stand-up comedians. It will also give a chance to families to come and be a part of the event, over tea and snacks.

The idea is to hunt for local talent and also give leisure time to families, promoting its integral thought - 'Asli Mazaa Sab Ke Saath Ata Hai'. The exercise aims to facilitate healthy interaction between the viewers and Sab TV fostering a special bond between them, which goes beyond mere numbers and statistics for a GEC, the channel said.

Anooj Kapoor, senior EVP and business head, Sab TV and Sony Pal says, "Chai Pe Chutkule, has the right mix of interactivity and great content. The property in itself will be intensely engaging whilst also search for some of the best local talent. We aim to take it around the country looking for genuine local talent with a flair for clean comedy whilst entertaining the local family audiences with their talent. I hope our audiences seize this opportunity to be a part of the SAB family".

For the record, Sab TV is a part of the network of television channels owned by MSM India, along with Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Max, Max 2, Sony Pal and Sony PIX. The channel was launched, in April 2000, by Sri Adhikari Brothers as a general entertainment channel. In 2003, it was repositioned as a comedy-centric channel. In March 2005, SAB TV was acquired by MSM and was transformed into a youth-centric channel.

In June 2008, the channel announced that it would return to its roots by being repositioned as a comedy-centric channel once again. SAB TV revamped its style on June 21, 2013 and the current style uses boxes and more color. SAB TV's programming includes Baal Veer, Chintu Aur Pintu, F.I.R., Chidiya Ghar and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
