The CEO and managing editor of the news channel has ended his 10-month-old stint.
Vinod Kapri, the chief executive officer and managing editor of Hindi news channel News Express has decided to move on. Kapri put in his papers two days back, ending his 10-month stint at the news channel. He will be serving his notice period till October 31.
Confirming the news to afaqs! Kapri said that as far as the content on the channel is concerned, his journey was a satisfactory one. He will now be focusing on completing his movie. He had moved to News Express from India TV where he was working as the managing editor since 2007.
Kapri started his career as a journalist with Amar Ujala in 1993. Later, in 1995, he moved on to the electronic media with Zee News as reporter and quickly climbed up to the position of output editor for Zee News. In 2004, he joined STAR News (now ABP News) as executive producer and was promoted as managing editor.
He is also known for documentaries that include 13th December Parliament Attack, 1999 Kargil war, Dalai Lama, Sunderlal Bahuguna, Aghori Sadhus, Widows of Kashi, Gay Sex in India and 26th November Mumbai Attack. Being a journalist for over 20 years, all of Kapri's assignments have been investigative in nature.
