FOX Life has announced the launch of the second season of its music show, Soundtrek. The season will see India's popular artistes give a hypnotic twist to some of Bollywood's iconic classics. Starting September 1, the show will air every Monday and Tuesday at 10 pm.
Soundtrek captures the musical journey of artistes like Palash Sen and his band Euphoria; Uday Benegal (Indian Rock band Indus Creed); Gurdeep Mehendi (popular Punjabi singer); Mikey McCleary, the man behind the re-interpretations of songs like Khoya Khoya Chand and Hawa Hawai; Hipnoribe, a Mumbai-based funk/jazz/rock band; Amit Kilam (Indian Ocean drummer); Dhruv Sangari (sufi singer) and many news bands like Nasya, Swarthma and Fossils as they explore India's "most memorable" songs in a city that connects best with it, collaborate with local artistes and create magic.
The artistes trek through the country visiting places like Jaipur, Amritsar, Benaras, Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaisalmer and Kolkata to trace the stories and people who inspired the songs. Debarpita Banerjee, vice president - Marketing, FOX International Channels says, "With the all new season of Soundtrek, we are bringing together two completely different musical worlds - Bollywood classics and contemporary music producers. Soundtrek 2 promises to be a visual and melodious treat for all."
