Raktim Das, president of the English news channel NewsX, has quit the channel, after a short stint of around 10 months. At NewsX, he was responsible for the channel's operations and providing strategic direction for brand and business development.
He had joined NewsX in September 2013 from Zee Media Corporation (ZMCL) where he was working as the head of strategy. Das confirmed the news to afaqs!, without divulging anything about his next venture.
He has over two decades of experience in the media space spanning television, newspapers and magazines. He worked with Times of India as senior officer - Response in the initial years of his career in 1995.
He quit TOI in 1997 to join The India Today Group. In his 10-year stint with the Group, he managed the marketing function of the group's business magazine - Business Today. He also contributed to the launch of the Indian editions of premier media brands like Harvard Business Review, Men's Health and Scientific American.
In March 2008, Das had joined as business head for Zee Business. He later moved to the role of head of strategy.
