Mindshare wins Yakult India's media mandate

WPP's agency will handle the media planning and buying business.

Mindshare, a GroupM-owned media agency, has bagged the media mandate for Yakult Danone India. The agency will handle company's media planning and buying business.

Probiotic drink Yakult was launched in India in 2007, and is available in Delhi, NCR, Nasik, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.

Minoru Shimada, managing director, Yakult Danone India, says, "While we have been expanding across geographies, India is an important market where we are actively building awareness and benefit about probiotics. Backed up with a strategic approach and extensive expertise, I believe Mindshare is the best choice to handle our media planning and buying in India."

Commenting on the win, Ravi Rao, leader, South Asia, Mindshare, states, "Since this is an emerging category in India having immense potential, we look to use adaptive and innovative strategies to take the brand to new heights."

The agency has recently won the media duties for theme park Adlabs Imagica launched early last year.

Mindshare is a global media and marketing services network with billings in excess of $27.8 billion (source: RECMA). The network consists of 113 offices in 82 countries throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, West Asia and Asia Pacific, each dedicated to forging competitive marketing advantage for businesses and their brands.
