Bloomberg Media has appointed Kunal Bajaj as head of media sales for the country.
The appointment is an attempt to set up a dedicated in-house sales lead in India.
Bajaj, who has joined Bloomberg Media Group from Turner International India, will be based in Mumbai.
At Turner, he was account director of CNN International.
In his new role at Bloomberg, Bajaj will oversee the growth of Bloomberg's advertising sales for India and be responsible for driving revenue across Bloomberg Media's 360 degree media platform.
Bloomberg's global media platform claims to reach the world's global business elite and encompasses Bloomberg TV, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg.com, Businessweek.com and "award winning" apps across major mobile devices.
An MBA from California State University-Fresno, Bajaj has around 14 years of experience. In the early days of his career, he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as articled trainee for almost three years. In 2004, Bajaj joined Susan's Landlord Service as marketing manager. His role there was to plan and implement strategies for business expansion.
In October 2005, Bajaj moved to CNBC-TV18 as senior executive, but within five months shifted to Turner International India as account director of CNN International. His role at Turner was to build and manage a sustainable and profitable business unit in the West and South of India.
