ETV has appointed Devendra Pathak as head, sales, retail and corporate for its Hindi news and Urdu channels. He has taken charge in February and is based in Jaipur.
His mandate is to supervise the revenue growth from corporate and retail for existing ETV Hindi news and Urdu channels.
Before ETV, Pathak was working as a station head with 94.3 My FM, the radio division of Dainik Bhaskar. He was taking care of its sales and operation.
Pathak says, "ETV has solid credibility in the regional market. It's a household name in regions and in the last five-six years, there is tremendous growth in the ETV news channel space. There is a huge gap between the No. 1 and No. 2 channels. So, after newspaper and radio, it will be great to work with the No. 1 regional channel. I will be responsible for handling the corporate and retail business side of the channel."
Pathak has 12 years of experience in the media industry. He began his career as a graduate engineer trainee at Superheat Powercons in Calcutta and switched from technical side to print media to join Dainik Bhaskar Rajasthan in February 2002.
He has also worked with Dainik Bhaskar Rajasthan, Amar Ujala Uttaranchal and Andhra Jyothi in Delhi.
ETV has a bouquet of 12 regional channels: ETV Telugu, ETV2, ETV Bangla, ETV Marathi, ETV Kannada, ETV Odia, ETV Gujarati, ETV Urdu, ETV Uttar Pradesh, ETV Rajasthan, ETV Bihar and ETV Madhya Pradesh.
