Known for his 15-year relationship with Zee News, Singh moves in from Focus TV.
News Express, the three-year old Hindi news channel, has appointed Satish K Singh as consulting editor. He will work to enhance the editorial output of the channel.
Singh is an old hand in the Hindi news space and is best known for his 15-year stint with Zee News; he joined the channel in 1996. Singh has spent the last one year at Live India, the Hindi news channel from Sri Adhikari Brothers, as editor-in-chief. Later, he was the news director of Focus TV (Positive Television) for a very short period.
Singh is currently working on his recently launched firm, Mission Infomedia.
He has over two decades of experience in journalism.
After his famed stint at Zee, Singh joined NDTV India in 2005. He returned to Zee News as senior executive editor in 2007 and left again in 2012.
News Express has been active on the people front of late. Recently, Zee News' Paritosh Chaturvedi was appointed as deputy executive editor of the channel; his joining date is January, 15. Earlier, he was output head and associate editor, Zee News. Chaturvedi will be responsible for the news line up of the channel on a day to day basis. He will report to Vinod Kapri, CEO and managing director, News Express.
Chaturvedi started his career in 2001 with Hari Bhoomi in Raipur. Later, he moved to Nav Bharat Times in Bhopal. After spending close to four years in print media, he moved on to electronic media in 2004 as senior copy editor, output desk, India TV. He left India TV after nine years and three months as associate output editor. He joined Zee News in September, 2013.
Other recent appointments at News Express include Jacob Matthew (executive editor) and Nikhil Dubey and Rohit Bisht (deputy executive editors). All three are former India TV hands.
On the reporting front, the channel roped in Jamshed Khan, an investigative journalist and Sushant Pathak as special correspondent.
