The music channel from Sun TV that telecast classic hits of Telugu Cinema will have a newer set of music-based shows, starting January 1.
In an effort to create connection, Gemini Life, the 24-hour Telugu music channel, will don an all-new look, along with a set of music-related programmes that aim to fuel nostalgia. January 1 onwards, the channel will bring on a new segment of music-based programmes.
Some of the new shows include Sumadhura Sangeetham, Marapuraani Pata, Sayantra Sarigamalu, Prema Keratam and Patala Chirugaali. It will also introduce several special shows dedicated to music directors, artists, singers and lyricists in this new phase.
The official communiqué from the network mentions, "Gemini TV has always strived to understand the pulse of the audience and in an effort to entertain you on weekends and create an occasion to spend quality time with your family, 'Gemini Life' invites you to watch a movie together by blocking your time for our litany of Silver Jubilee hit movies of Telugu cinema every weekend."
The channel was launched with a focus on areas like lifestyle, religion, health and education, in January 2012, along with Sun Life, which was a Tamil channel in the same genre. These channels took the bouquet of Sun Network to 32 channels and the launch of these pay channels added one more genre (and sub-brand) 'Life' to the existing general entertainment, movies, music, news, kids, comedy and action genres.
Including the newly launched one, the network has 12 channels in Tamil, nine in Telugu, seven in Kannada and four channels in Malayalam. Earlier, the network launched four advertisement free action movie channels in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, and four high definition TV channels, three in Tamil and one in Telugu. All these channels were launched a month before the launch of Gemini Life and Sun Life.
