Sony Pictures Television has appointed Arpit Mankar as head, programming, AXN. Earlier, Mankar was working with Reliance Broadcast Network as network programming head, TV.
Mankar, in his current role, will take care of the programming for the English general entertainment channel.
Sources reveal that he will report to Suniil Punjabi, business head, AXN.
Mankar is a post graduate in advertising and communication from Narsee Monjee Institute, Mumbai. He joined STAR India in the early years of his career as associate vice-president, research and strategic planning, in 2001. After spending close to five and a half years at STAR, he joined Reliance Network as director, Big 92.7 FM, in 2006. Later, he also worked for Big Broadcasting, followed by a shift to Big Productions as head, creative and business development.
In 2011, he was assigned the task to handle the programming of Reliance Broadcast Network's TV channels bouquet.
