The new edition will be launched from Chhindwara on July 12.
Lokmat Media, which publishes the Hindi daily Lokmat Samachar, is about to make an entry in Madhya Pradesh. The group will launch its maiden edition from Chhindwara, MP, on July 12.
The group aims to be the No. 1 publication of the city from Day One. It will cover the entire district of Chhindwara.
Talking about why the group decided to enter MP with the Chhindwara edition and not Indore or Bhopal, the company official says, "The brand, Lokmat Samachar, is very well known to the people in Chhindwara and there was a demand from the readers to have a separate edition of Lokmat Samachar from Chhindwara."
Chhindwara is the first independent edition of Lokmat Samachar in MP. The group has been sending the Madhyanchal edition (designed for the readers of MP) for many years from Nagpur to the four bordering districts of the state, including Chhindwara, Balaghat, Seoni and Betul.
The cover price of the new edition will be Re 1 from Monday to Friday; on Saturdays it will be sold for Rs 2 and on Sunday, the cover price will be a bit higher at Rs 3.
To promote the new edition, the group has introduced a slogan, 'Chhindwara Tez Chal', that will be used throughout the marketing campaign. According to a company official, the company's interaction with the local population in the city revealed their concerns about pending developmental issues. "Therefore, we have taken this route which promises that presence of Lokmat Samachar will raise the voice on behalf of Chhindwara."
After the launch, the theme of the paper will be tweaked to 'Chhindwara Tez Chalega'.
Launched in 1989, Lokmat Samachar primarily caters to the Hindi speaking population in Maharashtra. The newspaper is published from Nagpur, Aurangabad, Akola, Kolhapur, Pune and Jalgaon and has 14 sub editions. Lokmat Samachar is also circulated in parts of Madhya Pradesh and some other neighbouring states.
