While SET Max remains stable at 224 GRPs, GECs seem to be gaining viewership.
Life OK has been the biggest gainer of the week, owing to the improved performance of its crime-thriller, Shapath, in the current week ended May, 11. The channel had garnered 102 GRPs in Week 18 and has strengthened its score to 123 GRPs in the current week. Mahadev, the channel's flagship mythological property, has entered the most watched programmes list in the current week with 2.5 TVRs, after a Maha-Episode aired on Sunday, May 5.
Interestingly, in the current week's ratings, TAM's digital landscape has increased. Consider this: The ratings for general entertainment channels are mapped on TG: C&S 4+, where C&S means the cable and satellite homes (including both digital and analog homes). With the implementation of DAS Phase 2, the number of digital homes has increased, thereby decreasing the number of analog homes. TAM has updated the universe with this change in the current week (Week 19) beginning May 5 and ending May 11.
As per the TAM data provided by the subscribers, Star Plus continues to rule the roost in Week 19 with 232 GRPs, up from last week's 224 GRPs. Five of the channel's shows have featured in the most watched list. Zee TV, too, has maintained its position in the current week scoring 174 points, marginally down from last week's ratings (175 GRPs). Two of its fiction properties could get listed in the top shows' list.
Sony is back at No. 3, a marginal distance away from its closest competitor, Colors. Sony has scored 166 GRPs, which is 12 points ahead of last week's 154 GRPs. Only Crime Patrol has entered the most watched programmes' list. Colors, despite having featured four of its shows in the top shows' list, has finished at No. 4 in Week 19. The channel has clocked 165 GRPs in the current week.
SAB TV, the sibling channel of Sony TV, has registered 131 GRPs, same as that of last week. Its flagship show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is in the list of top showst for a couple of months now.
Lastly, Sahara One is at No. 7 with 13 points.
Diya Aur Baati Hum (4.2 TVRs) of Star Plus has again ranked No. 1 in the list of top shows on Hindi GECs. Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (3.4 TVRs) stands at the second spot. The third spot is occupied by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (SAB TV) which clocked 3.3 TVRs, followed by Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai with 3.1 TVRs.
At No. 5, India's Dancing Superstar (Star Plus), Qubool Hai (Zee TV) and Balika Vadhu (Colors) share the spot with 3 TVRs. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Madhubala (Star Plus and Colors, respectively) stand next with 2.8 TVRs. Sasural Simar Ka (Colors) is at No. 7 with 2.6 TVRs.
Colors' Uttaran, Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana, Sony's Crime Patrol and Life OK's Mahadev share the next spot with 2.5 TVRs.
