Radio Mirchi, the radio channel from the group of Bennett, Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL), has promoted Vivek Modi as station head for Delhi. Modi has been with Radio Mirchi since 2011 and was working as vice-president and cluster head, East, managing the east India business of the radio channel. He will replace Sachin Tagra, senior vice-president and cluster head, North, Radio Mirchi. Tagra quit the organisation, recently.
He will be reporting to Mahesh Shetty, chief strategy officer, Radio Mirchi and handling the operations of Delhi along with Jaipur and Jalandhar.
Speaking on his appointment, Modi says, "My responsibilities include safeguarding our listeners and keep them glued to Radio Mirchi and also increase the revenues. Apart from that I will also be responsible for generating new advertisers for the radio channel as Delhi continues to be one of the major revenue hubs for the radio industry."
Modi will be operating from Delhi.
Modi has more than 10 years of experience. He started his career with J Walter Thompson as senior account representative in 2003 but within a year, shifted to Anandabazar Patrika as brand manager for Telegraph, where he spent more than two-and-a-half years.
In 2007, he joined Vodafone as head, marketing communication for Kolkata, where he worked for more than four-and-a-half years. Since 2011, he has been with Radio Mirchi.
Radio Mirchi is a subsidiary of Entertainment Network India Limited (ENIL), a subsidiary of Times Infotainment Media Limited (TIML) belonging to the Times of India Group.
The channel is available in more than 30 cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal, Nagpur, Nasik, Patna and others.
