Sandeep Amar, the former head of marketing, Times Internet, has launched Pikboo.com as a platform to create websites for kids. Pikboo comes with design templates and other features and creates websites with dedicated domains to help parents track the life of their kids on the web.

For international users, the cost of attaining Pikboo's services start from for $65 for a year, whereas in India, the prices start from Rs 4500 per year. Pikboo claims to be tailor-made for children and parents giving complete control to parents to edit the details on site.

Amar, founder and CEO, Pikboo states that the site is kind of a paid, secure, parent's friendly 'Facebook for kids' with closed-user-group social experience. "Great looking websites was our key objective. This needed some manual intervention - we have created processes to match product design and technology. It is not about having hundreds of templates, it is about matching templates with pictures and content. We have filed a patent for this process as well," informs Amar.

Amar, who had put his papers in Times Internet on September 2012, had joined mobile internet company One97 Communications as the head of mobile advertising and marketing in October 2012. Amar quit One97 Communication in January this year and started working on Pikboo.

He had joined Times Group in 2007 as the head of marketing at Times Business Solutions. In 2009, he was made the head of marketing and audience at Indiatimes. Amar has about 15 years of experience and has previously worked in developing Citigroup's internet channel in India. He had also worked with Zee Telefilms and Hindustan Times.
