The weekly newspaper to be available in Singapore will cover Indian business and economy.
HT Media, which publishes business newspaper Mint in the country, has launched a weekly business newspaper for the international market. Titled MintAsia, the weekly offering will be available in Singapore every Friday.
The paper was unveiled at the IIMPact alumni event in Singapore on April 6 by Dr Raghuram Rajan, chief economic advisor to the Government of India and R Sukumar, editor, MintAsia.
MintAsia will be Asia's weekly window into the Indian business and economy in Singapore. The business publication will have a cover price of 6 SGD and will carry analysis and insights into the Indian market to keep the global audience abreast of developments shaping the economy and markets here.
In an official communiqué, Rajiv Verma, CEO, HT Media, says, "When we conceptualised Mint, we were always very clear that it would be a regional media brand and I am delighted that, with this launch in Singapore of MintAsia, we have started on that journey."
Sukumar says, "Singapore is one of the world's foremost financial centres and many decisions regarding investments in India happen here. With our unique Web First approach and a weekly print offering, both backed by an integrated newsroom, we will try and cater to the India-specific information needs of the discerning Singapore reader."
The content mix of the weekly will include banking and finance, policy and corporate affairs, opinions and views of experts across industries, and a lifestyle section that will offer insights into the Indian business market.
For the record, HT Media publishes three newspapers in the country - Hindustan Times, Hindustan and Mint. The flagship brand of the company, Hindustan Times, was started in 1924. The company also owns the radio station Fever 104 FM.
