Rashmi Berry, chief marketing officer of HomeShop18, the home shopping brand of Network18, has put in her papers at the company. Sources close to the development confirm the news to afaqs! and add that the company is yet to finalise her replacement.

Berry joined HomeShop18 in July 2012, and was mandated to build and establish the brand across the business verticals of TV, web and mobile. She reported to Sundeep Malhotra, CEO and founder, HomeShop18.

Earlier, Berry was with the HT Media Group, where she was business head for Hindustantimes.com, Livehindustan.com and HT Mobile. With more than 18 years of experience, Berry has worked across various media domains including the India Today Group and STAR TV India. Also, as a senior consultant and practice head at Quadra Advisory, she has worked on brand launch and marketing strategies for brands such as Max Healthcare, All Out, Moser Baer and Sundrop edible oil.

Recently, as a marketing activity, HomeShop18, in association with Delhi International Airport (DIAL), introduced a virtual shopping wall named 'Scan N Shop' at Terminal 3 (domestic side) of New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). According to HomeShop18, the passengers got to browse through its entire range of products and could order by scanning the QR code displayed against each item with their smartphones. Consumers could also order by calling at the call centre.

In 2011, HomeShop18.com acquired online books portal CoinJoos.com, which was started in November 2009 by the Noida-based technology start-up, On-Graph Technologies. Eventually, the company discontinued the Coinjoos.com brand and merged the books business with Homeshop18.com.

Launched in 2008, Homeshop18 competes with 24-hour home shopping television channel Star CJ Alive and some individual programmes like Telebrands India, NaapTol, TVC SkyShop and Televantage. In the e-commerce space, the company has competitors like Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong and Snapdeal among others in the country.
