Jain comes from Lintas Media Group, where he handled the Maruti and Usha businesses.
Havas Media India, the newly rebranded agency, has taken on-board Abhishek Jain as senior vice-president, investments. Jain is the erstwhile head of the Maruti and Usha planning and buying businesses at Lintas Media Group who also handled new business.
At Havas he will head buying for the West operations, a focus area for the agency this year.
Jain will report to Kunal Jamuar, executive director, Havas Media.
Anita Nayyar, CEO, Havas Media Group, India & South Asia, says, "We already have an established presence in the West with cross-industry clients and are looking to further expand our footprint."
Speaking on the development, Jain says, "Havas Media is a mid-sized agency with an integrated media offering within itself. This structure allows a definitive streamlining of creative buying with innovative solutions for clients, which is what I look forward to."
This is Jain's second stint at the agency. He has worked at Havas-owned MPG India. He believes that this is more of a homecoming for him and that it is a fast growing media agency.
In an official communiqué, Mohit Joshi, managing director, Havas Media India, says, "Jain's extensive experience in media planning and buying, across several key businesses and categories, will help the agency."
Jain has about 14 years of experience. He has worked at Dentsu as vice-president (consultant). Later, he joined MPG and then moved on to Lintas in 2010 as vice-president.
He has also worked with ZenithOptimedia, Cheil and Mudra, and handled a variety of clients such as Honda cars, HP, LV, Hyundai, Nestle, Samsung, McDonald's and Mother Dairy.
