Nimbus Sport has bagged the production rights of Super Fight League (SFL) for five years, including the next season which starts on March 29.

ESPN-STAR Sports has bagged the broadcast rights for the league for five years. The network will cover 23 SFL fights live on a fortnightly basis.

Nimbus Sport plans to produce the content in high definition (HD) with a significant camera upgrade. It also plans to use a super slow motion HD camera for high quality coverage.

Sunil Manocha, COO, Nimbus Sport, says, "Our legacy of producing top-notch live feeds for sports events continues with the signing of this new deal and the SFL is a worthy addition to our bouquet. Through the commitment of its organisers, SFL has quickly established itself as the pre-eminent pro fight league in India."

Raj Kundra, chairman, SFL, says, "Best-in-class television production is key to growing a sport and the proven international expertise of Nimbus Sport was the clincher."

Super Fight League was founded by Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt in 2012 and has Olympic medal winner pugilist Mary Kom as its brand ambassador.

This year, about 250 male and female fighters from India and abroad will fight it out for the coveted Championship Title Belt and the right to be crowned SFL World Champion.

This season will see participants from top notch mixed martial arts (MMA)-playing countries like Japan, Brazil and USA. NRI MMA fighters from countries such as Australia, UK, Canada, Germany and USA will also be seen in action and add flavour to this high octane contact sport.

Nimbus Sport specialises in television rights distribution and management, television production, sponsor services, event management, new media content and on-air advertising sales. It has been involved in managing rights transactions worth more than USD 2 billion. Nimbus was started in 1987 by Harish Thawani.
