For the second time in the last three weeks, Colors takes the No. 1 spot to lead the Hindi GEC flock. The channel was No. 1 during Week 50 (of 2012) with 239 GRPs (C&S, 4+, HSM); Star Plus was at 231 GRPs.
The Hindi general entertainment space has witnessed a major reshuffle in the top GEC bracket for the week ended January, 12. Colors, the Hindi GEC from the Viacom18 stable, has taken the top spot in the category with 245 GRPs in its pocket, thereby dethroning Star Plus from the No.1 position.
Star Plus (with 241 GRPs at No. 2) lost as much as 46 points over the previous week (Week 1), thus making way for Colors to move up the ladder, despite a loss of 8 GRPs during the given week. It would be interesting to note here that this is for the second time that Colors has taken up the No. 1 spot to lead the Hindi GEC flock in the last three weeks. The channel had reached the No. 1 spot during Week 50 (of 2012) with 239 GRPs(C&S, 4+, HSM); Star Plus was at 231 GRPs.
According to TAM data provided to subscribers, the Bigg Boss Grand Finale on Colors (on Saturday, 9 pm) fetched 4.37 TVRs, helping its weekend programming to contribute an approximate 10 GRPs to the overall channel grade; the show averaged at 3.3 TVR. However, compare that to Kaun Banega Crorepati's episode that featured a participant who won Rs 5 crore on Saturday at 8.30 pm; it fetched a TVR of 5.09. The show on Sony, meanwhile, averaged at 3.9 TVR during Week 2 of 2013.
Zee TV occupies the third spot with 196 GRPs for the week, a fall of 15 points over the previous week. Sony, at No. 4, meanwhile, exhibits a strong fight with Zee TV with 195 GRPs, a 15 point jump over the previous week.
Sony entertainment's sibling channel SAB TV continues to occupy the fifth spot and is stable at 150 points.
At No. 6 is Life OK, the second GEC from the STAR stable, which has garnered 117 GRPs, a win of three points over Week 1. This is followed by Sahara One at No. 7, which has moved three points up to end the week with 26 GRPs.
Balika Vadhu (Colors) leads the list of the most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 5.58, followed by KBC (Sony) and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma (SAB TV), with TVRs of 5.09 and 4.99, respectively. Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus) is at the third spot with 4.72 TVRs, while Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, another Star Plus property, follows next with 4.65 TVR.
The fifth most-watched programme was the Bigg Boss Grand Finale with 4.37 TVR, followed by Saathiya Saath Nibhana on Star Plus (4.1TVR) and Sasural Simar Ka on Colors (4.08 TVR).
Pyaar Ka Dard Hai (Star Plus, 3.91 TVR) and Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Colors, 3.89 TVR) are also a part of the most viewed programmes of the week.
