Duggal will report to V Achuthan Kutty, director, digital, Madison.
Madison Media has announced that it will take on board Amit Duggal as director, digital, North and East. Duggal will handle the digital businesses of Delhi and Kolkata.
Duggal will report to V Achuthan Kutty, director, digital of Madison. Earlier this year, Punitha Arumugam quit the agency as group CEO, and was replaced by Gautam Kiyawat in April, 2012.
In an official communiqué, Kiyawat says that Duggal is expected to add a lot of value to the agency's digital clients and help them make digital a significant driver of the business. His mandate will also be to win new businesses.
Duggal joins Madison from Mindshare, where he was partner, Invention, with a mandate to grow the digital marketing business for the FMCG category.
A post graduate in marketing from EMPI, Duggal started his career with a short stint at Percept H as account executive. He then moved on to join Leo Burnett in the same capacity, after spending 10 months at Percept H.
At Leo Burnett, Duggal managed advertising in the North and East regions for the Mc Donald's account. After nine months, he shifted to Indiatimes.com as manager, marketing in 2005, where he was first handed over the digital mandate, and also worked for the offline campaigns.
Moving on after a year and a half, he joined Yatra Online in 2006 as online marketing manager. This was Duggal's first stint with a complete digital mandate to his name. Being a part of the launch team, he led the online launch campaigns for the travel portal.
However, within four months, he again moved to another travel website, Travelguru, as head, online media and internet sales. Here, he was responsible for analytics, SEO, online alliances, SEM, Whitelabels, affiliate marketing and e-mailer programmes.
After two years, he joined Geodesic as head, online marketing, in 2008. There, he handled online and mobile marketing for the brand. After a year, he joined Mindshare as partner, Invention, in 2011.
