MediaCom's Bengaluru office will handle the media mandate of the recently launched social media platform.
Social network platform Qyuki.com has appointed MediaCom to handle its media duties. MediaCom's Bengaluru office, which won the account after a multi-agency pitch, will service Qyuki.com. Three agencies participated in the pitching process.
Qyuki.com was founded by actor-director Shekhar Kapur and music director A R Rahman with the objective of nurturing people's talent and creativity, and help them express it.
Debraj Tripathy
, managing director, MediaCom India, says the agency will handle media planning and buying in both digital and non-digital media. However, since Qyuki.com is an online brand, digital will play a predominant part of the mix.
As for the task ahead of them, Tripathy says, "The biggest challenge for us will be to create awareness about the brand as it's a new concept." Although the online brand has been founded by some big names in the entertainment industry, it will still require brand recognition.
Bidisha Nagaraj, chief marketing officer, Qyuki, says, "We believe that MediaCom has the experience and depth of knowledge in the new media space to be able to handle the account."
Being a new media company, Qyuki is looking at new media vehicles to make a mark in the first phase of awareness building. Its key objective is to build a robust creative community at Qyuki, Nagaraj adds.
Qyuki.com was launched in Bengaluru earlier this month. It started scouting for a media agency around five months ago. It will come out with a digital campaign in the coming few weeks.
The portal will help users to tap into their creativity and help them become a brand unto themselves.
