Saurabh Yagnik, SVP and business head, English channels cluster at STAR India has put in his papers, ending his five-year stint with the company.
According to highly placed industry sources, Yagnik will join Sony Pix, the English movie channel from the MSM stable, to replace Sunder Aaron, former executive vice-president of the channel. Yagnik's new designation, however, still remains unknown.
It is pertinent to note here that despite several attempts, both STAR India and MSM remained unavailable for comments at the time of filing this report.
Yagnik began his career as assistant manager at ITC in 1995. After spending about 4.5 years with the company, he moved on to Hindustan Unilever as category finance manager. In 2007, Yagnik joined STAR India as vice-president, FP&A. He was responsible for financial planning and analysis, and treasury for the STAR TV group in India. He was named SVP and business head, English channels cluster at STAR India in 2010, and held the position for more than two years.
