Arnab Mitra, national director, digital, Starcom MediaVest Group is all set to sever ties with the agency by the end of December.
His stint with Starcom MediaVest Group extended for nearly one and a half years; he joined the group in June, 2011.
Mitra played a key role in restructuring the practice and driving the agency's digital ambitions.
Mitra's career spans more than a decade in digital media. An engineer from Kolkata, Mitra began his professional journey as a tele-caller in a business process outsourcing company. In three months, he moved to HCL Technologies, where he worked till January, 2005, including a stint in London. Later, he joined ePurple media as business development manager and learnt his first lessons in digital marketing under David Wilson, owner, ePurple.
After a stint of two and a half years at ePurple, he shifted to Indigo Consulting as capacity manager and looked after international sales for the next six months.
Subsequently, Mitra headed to Pinstorm as marketing strategy manager in April, 2006.
In the next four years, Mitra made rapid shifts, moving from Ignitee Digital to Media Contacts, the digital agency of Havas Media, where he spent a little more than two years as regional director, South Asia.
He joined Starcom MediaVest in June, 2011.
Mitra also runs Binary Edge, a digital media education venture, on a not-for-profit basis along with some other senior digital media professionals in Mumbai.
