To be launched by December, the monthly magazine will target expecting and new parents; the website was launched in August.
Maxposure Media Group has announced that it will launch a print publication, Parents India magazine. It is the first licensed magazine from the group, which is a subsidiary of Gruner+Jahr, which comes out with Eltern (Parent in German) magazine. Parents India will cater to expecting and new parents. The magazine is expected to be launched by December, after clearance from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Registrar of Newspapers of India.
Slated to be a monthly issue, the magazine will be priced at Rs 100, with 36,000 copies in its initial print run. It will also have special issues on topics such as 200 Q&A on pregnancy, New Born Babies, and Shopping for My Baby.
Interestingly, the online version of the magazine, www.parentsindia.com, was launched on August 15. The online magazine offers information on various facets of parenting, with useful tools and a community platform for its users. The community interface enables users to interact with other parents and share experiences and opinions.
Shilpi Shukla, editor, Parents India, says, "We are there with Indian moms for the whole nine months and even beyond, offering them expert advice on safe workouts, nutrition guidance, meal plans, medical news, baby gear and more."
Every issue of Parents India will provide age-specific child development guidance and other valuable advice on emotional, physical and social development of the child.
"Being the father of two kids, I understand that raising a kid is both - a fun and challenging experience. This is what motivated me to come up with Parents India, a magazine that serves as an invaluable resource for parents who desire to play an active role in their child's development and learning,"
says Prakash Johari, CEO and managing director, Maxposure Media Group.
To market the offering, the group plans to use the website and organise various events across the country to target its core readers, says Vikas Johari, publisher and COO, Maxposure Media Group.
