Trade magazine publishing house, New Media has launched a B2B magazine called SeaPorts Business. The bimonthly magazine will offer in-depth information and analyses covering all aspects of the ports and shipping sectors and allied services.

According to the publication house, the magazine will look to meet the growing demand for information in the key sectors of ports and shipping that are currently receiving a boost under the government's Maritime Agenda.

The Maritime Agenda 2010-20 of the government was launched in January, 2011 where plans to spend an estimated US$110 billion to develop ports and shipbuilding by 2020 was revealed.

Commenting on the launch of SeaPorts Business, Satya Swaroop, managing editor, New Media says in a press statement, "Presently, Indian ports are being modernised and expanded on a massive scale. There is infusion of new technology in equipment, services and operations. There is also hectic activity under public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the ports sector. We see there is a great need for information and its dissemination among vast numbers of port users, both domestic and foreign."

"New Media has conceived, designed and launched SeaPorts Business in order to connect the different players in the ports and shipping sectors and service providers and bring to their doorsteps the world's best practices in these areas, which are the key engines of economic growth," adds Swaroop.

The inaugural issue of the magazine includes a wide canvas of the government's policy initiatives, details of PPP ventures at both major and non-major ports, interviews with the top honchos in the sector, presentations by foreign port technology experts and other analytical articles.

The magazine, with its niche nature, will be available on a subscription basis only - both online and for physical copies. SeaPorts Business is being offered at a cover price of Rs 100.

While the current ad to edit ratio is being maintained at 20:80 in favour of editorial content, going forward, New Media will look to increase the ad content with the ratio being 30:70. Advertisements are being sought from companies within the logistics sector.

The magazine is being promoted through trade exhibitions across the globe, for which media partnerships have been formed by New Media.
